Note

The story follows a clever and resourceful cat who belongs to the youngest son of a poor miller. When the miller dies, the youngest son inherits nothing but the cat, while his older brothers receive the mill and land. Initially disappointed, the son contemplates eating the cat. However, the cat speaks and promises to make his master rich if given a pair of boots and a bag.
